Electronic gear stolen
Thieves stole seven computers and video equipment valued at $22,000 and belonging to the Fresno County Department of Child Support Services last week, the Fresno County Sheriff's Department said.
The thefts were discovered Thursday, when deputies investigated burglaries from a vending machine at the Plaza Building in downtown Fresno, spokesman Chris Curtice said. Money was also taken from two change machines, and several other machines were vandalized.
The losses and damage to all of the machines are estimated at $1,190.
Deputies were then contacted by Fresno County security who advised that several computers had also been stolen from a storage area in the 15th floor of the Plaza building.
