Thief makes off with $3,000 worth of goods

Computer equipment, designer sunglasses and other electronic gadgets were taken in a downtown break-in Friday, police said.
Some time between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. a Water Street North apartment, someone entered the apartment through an unlocked ground floor window, police said.
Items reported stolen included a Foxx Comm computer system with a black Pentium 4 processor, a black keyboard, Altec speakers, a 17 inch black monitor, a Sony CD/radio/cassette/MP3 player, 60 CDs and a pair of Maui Jim polarized sunglasses tan in colour.
Sgt. Walter DiClemente said the value of the stolen items is approximately $3,000.
Anyone with information on this break and enter or the stolen property is asked to call police at 876-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 222-TIPS
