MINNEOSTA COMPUTER THIEF JAILED The Free Press, Mankato, MN - Computer stuffer jailed A man Lake Crystal police say is the man caught on a convenience store surveillance video stuffing a computer down his pants is in the Blue Earth County Jail. Lake Crystal Police Chief Tony Cornish said a warrant was issued for Kain’s arrest so he would be turned over to authorities when he was released from the hospital Monday afternoon. Kain, who doesn’t have a permanent address, was being treated for extreme intoxication, Cornish said. Kain’s friend, Terry Lloyd, called police on Thursday after he saw himself with Kain in a video that was aired Wednesday on local television news, the criminal complaint said. The surveillance video from the Lake Crystal Collis C-Store showed both men walking into the store Oct. 12. A man investigators suspect is Kain is shown going into the store’s office and looking in an area where a locked safe was located. The video from the office then shows the man unplugging a laptop computer and stuffing it into his pants. When Lloyd met with a police officer at the Martin County Library in Fairmont Thursday, he told the officer he was one of the men in the video. He also said Kain was the other man, but he didn’t know why Kain had entered the office or that Kain had stolen anything while he was there. Kain has been charged with felony theft and third-degree burglary, also a felony.
