HYDERABAD: Laptops worth Rs 10 lakh were stolen from Youdan Computers showroom in Hyderabad. The burglary was discovered when the shop was opened on Nov 24. Nov 23 was a public holiday in the region, owing to the Municipal Corporation elections. A police complaint has been registered at Abids police station, Hyderabad.
Talking about the theft, Rashna Mistry, CEO, Youdan Computers, said, "Only laptops were stolen. Printers, cartridges, RAMs and other computer spare parts were left untouched." The stolen laptop brands include Compaq Presario, HP Pavilion, Sony and Samsung. The culprits cut the power from the junction box outside the showroom, which turned off the security cameras inside the showroom.
"The place is huge. Security personnel always keeps walking around the place. Only an experienced thief could have done this," Mistry added. Mistry has alerted his partners about the theft. KVR Menon, President, Twin Cities Computer Dealers Association, has circulated a mail with serial numbers to all the members to inform the association immediately if and when the stolen products reach them for sale or service
