Businessman reports computer stolen
A Howell Township businessman reported to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department that someone stole his Gateway computer, which contained about $8,000 in business software.
The 58-year-old victim, who operates Concrete Construction Inc., said he arrived to work at 5178 E. Grand River Ave. at around 5:50 a.m. Thursday to find the front window to the office had been smashed.
It appeared the only items stolen in the previous night’s theft were the computer tower, monitor and keyboard.
The victim said he also found “several blood spots all around the office” where it appeared that whomever broke in cut himself or herself, police said.
Police are asking anyone who knows someone who suffered a cut to the hand or arm Wednesday to call the Sheriff’s Department’s tip line at (517) 546-8477. Anonymous tips also can be left with CrimeStoppers at (800) SPEAKUP or (800) 773-2587.
