posted February 13, 2007
Bradley County Sheriff’s deputies assisted the Cleveland Police Department with an investigation of a theft Monday evening from the Wal-Mart on Treasury Drive.
A BOLO (Be On the Lookout) was issued for a blue El Camino that had left the store with several items that were not paid for. Sheriff Lt. Terry Norwood spotted a vehicle fitting that description on APD-40 at exit 20 entering the southbound ramp to Interstate 75.
He conducted a traffic stop at the 19-mile marker and took the two occupants of the vehicle into custody. They were identified as Edward A. Holmes, 32, and John Lindsey, 32, both of Chattanooga.
The suspects were taken to the Bradley County jail where each was charged with theft over $1,000. Bond was set at $10,000 and both were released from custody.
Two E Machine desktop computers, one RCA 26 inch LCD TV, and food consisting of lasagna, pizzas, pot pies and punch were recovered from the rear of the vehicle. The value of the recovered property is in excess of $1,800.
In addition to Lt. Norwood, Deputies Casey Kerr and Laura Lane and Detective Kevin White assisted with the investigation. "
