Computer equipment valued at about $4,000 was stolen from the Palestine-Wheatley Middle School in Wheatley over the weekend.
PWSD Superintendent Donnie Collins said, “It happened sometime over the weekend. The police were called out to the school, and three laptop computers and seven headphones were stolen from the computer lab. When the police arrived, they didn’t find any sign of forced entry.”
Wheatley Police Chief Donald Parkman said he believes the incident occurred on Friday night, and the investigation is continuing.
