BENNINGTON — A Manchester woman accused of
stealing a laptop computer faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of the crime.

Sarah E. Dugre, 24, pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of grand larceny of an item worth more than $900 in Bennington District Court on Monday.

Court records show that Dugre is currently on probation in Vermont and Massachusetts for theft-related charges.

According to an affidavit from the Bennington Police Department, the
stolen computer was reported by a Bennington man on May 31.

The man said Dugre stayed in his apartment on May 30 and after she left, the laptop computer was missing. The man and his roommate said no one else had been in the apartment.

The computer was rented from Rent-A-Center in Bennington. The staff there said the computer is worth $1,100.

Police said Dugre denied taking the computer.

Dugre was released without bail and ordered to stay away from the man, his roommate and their apartment.

She is scheduled to appear in court again on Aug. 28."
