VIRGINIA COMPUTERS STOLEN Staunton man charged with computer thefts | newsleader.com | The News Leader:
Staunton man charged with
computer thefts

STAUNTON — A Staunton man accused in the theft of five laptop computers from the Staunton Wal-Mart on Richmond Road was arrested Thursday and charged with grand larceny, Staunton police said.

Eric Curry, 38, is accused of placing the computers inside a bag April 15 and leaving the store. Employees at the store were unable to read the suspect’s license plate number, but identified the car as a silver Isuzu.

According to Staunton police, on Sept. 19 surveillance video at the Richmond Road store shows Curry returning to the establishment and checking the lock on a computer display case. Police said he left the store and went to the Waynesboro Wal-Mart on Lucy Lane that same day, where he reportedly checked a computer display lock at that store. Employees were able to obtain the license number to Curry’s silver Isuzu, police said, leading to his arrest.

Virginia State Police assisted in the investigation.

Curry is free on bond.
