Two teenagers suspected of breaking into Deerfield Elementary School in Rochester Hills with a sledgehammer are likely to face charges, police said Wednesday.
The boys allegedly broke into the school late Sunday and smashed thousands of dollars worth of windows and computers and overturned furniture.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Department identified them after a teacher told police she recognized a teen who was treated for a cut on his hand at a local hospital Sunday and blood was found at the crime scene, Capt. Robert Smith said.
In addition, Smith said, a stolen computer also was found at one of the boy's homes.
Smith said detectives have strong evidence against the boys. Smith said investigators will take the case to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office within the next few days. "
