Suspect sought in computer heists
Montreal police are looking for Patrick Smith, 33, wanted in a series of break-ins. Smith is a suspect in the theft of computers from businesses in Montreal and Laval. In most of the cases, someone smashed the window of a business and stole the computer equipment inside. An arrest warrant alleging Smith committed 11 break-ins was issued recently. He is also wanted for violating parole. On Oct. 12, 2001, he was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to theft and breaking and entering. Smith is white, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 230 pounds and wears a ponytail. He has several tattoos and may be driving a white Pontiac Grand Prix with British Columbia licence plate 721 HGD.
