Police are investigating two alleged larcenies of computers and equipment from the Kennedy/Longfellow School last week.
School personnel reported to police last Monday morning that three computers were apparently stolen from the school over the weekend. Staff arrived Tuesday morning, Nov. 2, to discover another theft from a locked storage room, although police found no signs of forced entry.
The school, at 158 Spring St., was used over the weekend of Oct. 30 and 31 by several churches and was used last Monday night by the Community School and the Department of Human Services, according to schools spokeswoman Josie Patterson.
"The school district has a low rate of theft considering how many buildings we have that are used for a variety of open events and meetings during the course of the year," said Patterson.
