Computer equipment stolen from Bryn Mawr library
Lower Merion police are hunting the thieves who cleaned out a public library's computer lab this week, stealing eight Internet terminals and a server.
Margery Hall, head librarian of the Ludington Library on Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr, said the thieves smashed a rear window to gain access to the building sometime after the library's 9 p.m. closing time on Monday.
Counting hardware and software, the loss may top $18,000, an unusually cruel blow for a public library. The last theft at Ludington happened four years ago, Hall said, when thieves made off with a can of dimes.
