Computers stolen
Several business places were stripped of their precious work tools by thieves recently; namely their computers!

"There have been lots of computers stolen from business enterprises lately," reported Sylvain Legault from the Dumoulin electronic boutique in Ste. Martine, where the robbers tried in vain to break in last Nov. 9.

During the past few weeks, at least four establishments were targeted by crooks attracted by computer information. These spots include Nathalie Socqué's dentist office in Ste. Martine; notary Laberge and Industrial Alliance in Chateauguay, and Construction Laberge in Mercier.

The worst consequence of a stolen computer is the loss of all the information it contains, Legault explained.

For example, after the theft at her Ste. Martine office, Dr. Socqué had to communicate with all her patients to reconstruct her appointment book.(Tr: D.R.)
