Police are looking for whoever stole five laptop computers and a digital camera from an Edinburgh business and tried to take a computer from another.
Danzer Specialty Veneer employees called police about 8:30 a.m. Monday after noticing that a Dell laptop computer was missing. Two weeks ago, a Sony digital camera and four other laptops were stolen from three offices inside the business at 300 Naomi St., said Deputy Chief Dave Lutz of the Edinburgh Police Department.
An employee at David R. Webb Co., Danzer’s sister company located several blocks away, told police Monday that someone tried to steal a computer from their office over the weekend. The computer was unplugged when the worker arrived, Lutz said.
There were no signs of forced entry in the three incidents, and both companies have 24-hour security officers, Lutz said.
“Either someone is leaving a door open or has a key,” he said.
Anyone with information about the crimes should contact Lutz at (812) 526-3501.
