A stash of stolen computers, printers and other electronic equipment has been seized from the dorm room of two Villanova students now charged with a statewide theft scam, police say.
Michael Huber, 19, of Broadacre Drive, Mt. Laurel, N.J., and Thomas Buschman, 19, of Higgins Drive, Neenah, Wisc., are currently behind bars in the Centre County prison near Penn State’s main campus. Before their arrest, Huber and Buschman, both Villanova sophomores, were living in a leased dorm room on the Harcum College campus in Bryn Mawr.

The two were nabbed after they broke into a building on Penn State’s main campus about 9:42 p.m. Nov. 12, according to Sgt. John R. Stillwagon of the Lower Merion Police Department

Penn State campus police responding to a burglar alarm found the two men, wearing latex gloves and armed with cutting tools and a portable radio, and arrested them, police said.

The two Villanova students allegedly admitted to taking computer-related equipment from the university. They also allegedly told officers that stolen equipment could be found in their dorm room at Harcum College. A search warrant was subsequently executed at the men’s dorm room. There, police found computers and related electronic equipment, including laptop computers, monitors, laser printers, motherboards and similar items, police said.

The stolen items were traced to Penn State University, Villanova University, Haverford College, Swarthmore College, West Chester University and Bucknell University, police said.

Police have not yet put a value on the stolen equipment.

Buschman and Huber are charged with burglary and related offenses in Centre County, and conspiracy and receiving stolen property in Lower Merion.

Villanova spokeswoman Barbara Clement said both men have withdrawn from the university.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are anticipated.
