Police say David Krentz stole $90,000 worth of equipment over the last two years.

"We're investigating a larceny of numerous computers, computer hardware, software, GPS systems from the Indian River School District," said Investigator Jordan Bonafede, State Police.

Krentz was the technology supervisor at the school district until his resignation Tuesday. The Indian River School District Superintendent Roger Adams tells us that this investigation actually started three weeks ago when another employee noticed some equipment missing. Now State Police is handling the investigation.

"Right now we have two sets of property we've recovered. We can't comment on where the second set has been recovered from yet, obviously that's still under investigation, but the first set we did locate near his residence," Bonafede said.

For two years now, someone's been stealing property from the Indian River School District in Jefferson County. Now the school's former technology teacher is charged with the theft. News 10 Now's Amy Ohler has more.

Investigators are also looking into whether or not Krentz was selling the stolen goods over the Internet on eBay.

"We have to actually subpoena the information from eBay. With that we take his name, date of birth, address and contact eBay and attempt to get all the information any sell or accounts he may have back to us," Bonafede said.

State Police says its next step is to get the stolen goods back to the Indian River School District.

Krentz is scheduled to appear in court on those grand larceny charges. Investigators say additional charges could be filed. News 10 Now contacted Krentz, but he declined to comment.
