REGINA – Police are investigating a string of business break-and-enter thefts where burglars are making off with cash and laptop computers.

According to Regina police service spokesperson Elizabeth Popowich, some 40 businesses have been hit since Dec. 2, 2004.

Police believe some, if not most, of the break-ins are being committed by the same people. In many of the incidents, the crooks are smashing the glass front doors to get in.

The suspects are grabbing items from front offices that can be removed quickly – such as cash and laptops.

Police also believe the thieves are using stolen vehicles to commit the break and enters.

They're advising businesses to keep their computers anchored to desks if possible and not to keep cash in offices.
