REGINA – Regina police have laid more than 100 charges against four young men – two of them teenagers – following a rash of business break-ins earlier this month.

Police said the four have been charged with multiple counts of break and enter, car theft and possession of stolen property.

Other charges include possession of a concealed weapon, possession of break-in tools and various breaches of court orders, including breach of probation.

They're charged in connection with 21 business break and enters, 19 of them that happened on one day – Feb. 5. Two residential break-ins were later added to the list of offences.

All four have made a first court appearance.

The two adults, ages 22 and 25, will back be in court on their charges Feb. 22 and 23 respectively. The minors, 17 and 16, will be back in court Feb. 22 and March 1 respectively. A 21-year-year old woman is charged with possession of a stolen car in connection with the break-ins.

Regina police have been dealing with more than one spree of business break-ins this year.

In January, they reported that a group of people were believed responsible for some 40 break-ins that had taken place in December and January.

Crooks were smashing the glass at businesses and quickly grabbing cash, computers and other items before making a getaway in a stolen vehicle, police said. It's not known if there's any connection between the two break-in sprees.
