INDIANA COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM HOSPITAL Journal Gazette 04/06/2006 Condition improves for driver in rig crash: Hospital robbed of PCs, cash box; teens on video

Police believe three teenagers are behind the theft of several computers, money and media equipment from an office building at Lutheran Hospital.

Fort Wayne police were called to the old Lutheran Heart building, 7836 W. Jefferson Blvd., about 9:40 a.m. Tuesday to take a burglary report. Two hospital security guards met police and explained that the building, which is undergoing renovations, was broken into overnight, a police report said.

Three computer monitors, three laptop computers, a computer tower, an LCD projector, a portable sound system, one cash box and one check were reported missing. The items were taken from two different floors in the building, the report said.

A video security system recorded three burglary suspects inside the building between 8:20 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Monday. The three appeared to be teenagers and they wore black gloves during the heist. The video captured one of them taking a laptop computer out a door, according to the report.

Two desks were found pried open in the basement, the report said, and the suspects went through several rooms and even moved tools from the construction areas. No tools were reported stolen, the report said."
