SCHOOLS across Nuneaton, Bedworth and rural north Warwickshire are counting the cost after a wave of burglaries.

Five schools were broken into on the same night as intruders targeted hi-tech teaching aids including laptop computers and overhead projectors.

Police are not sure whether the raids are the work of one gang, but they are looking at possible links between the incidents.

All the burglaries took place on Tuesday night and were discovered by staff arriving for work yesterday.
Intruders used a metal bar to force their way into Nuneaton's Higham Lane School, in Shanklin Drive, before stealing an over-head projector from a classroom.
