Burglars methodically ransacked a Cooper City home and stole items with an estimated value of more than $27,000.

Between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. May 11, someone pried open the outside garage door of a home in the 10400 block of Southwest 50th Court, then pried open the inside door to enter the kitchen.

From the living room entertainment center, the burglars stole a 36-inch television set, a five-disc DVD system, a portable DVD player and a PlayStation II.

The burglars removed a TV from a bedroom and left it in the garage. A Leapster electronic game with two-game cartridge was stolen from the same bedroom.

An RCA portable CD/radio, a Memorex 20-inch TV and a Dell computer system were stolen from a second bedroom.

From the main bedroom, the burglars took a Dell computer system, fax machine, Sony digital camera, Hewlett-Packard printer, two necklaces, two medallions and work clothing.

After the report was written, it was updated to include the loss of a Sony Camcorder, Dell laptop computer, half-carat diamond engagement ring and wedding band, Apple iPod, Walkman CD player, toolbox, and jewelry.
