TEXAS COMPUTERS STOLEN Burglar steals 525 pairs of Nike shoes from Bishop Arts District shop 9:21 AM CT | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News | Breaking News for Dallas-Fort Worth | Dallas Morni More than $35,000 worth of merchandise and electronics were stolen overnight from an apparel store in the Bishop Arts District of Dallas. A burglar kicked in the back door of 10 Footwear at 322 West Davis Street, Dallas police said this morning. The burglar stole 525 pairs of Nike shoes, 250 T-shirts, 70 belts, three computers and the cash register sometime between 8 p.m. Wednesday and 3 a.m. today. Dallas police Senior Cpl. Kevin Janse said it was likely the burglary involved more than one person because of the large number of items stolen. Police, however, do not have surveillance video of the crime and no witnesses have come forward. While business burglaries are not uncommon, he said the crime was unusual for this part of Dallas. “It’s mainly a business area that’s not on our radar as a bad part of the city,” Janse said. Calls made to 10 Footwear this morning were not answered. 09:53 AM CST on Thursday, March 5, 2009
