Deerfield Beach: Church is burglarized

A burglar who stole from a Deerfield Beach church may have attended the Sunday night service then hid until the worshipers left, authorities say.

The thief took musical instruments, a video camera and two computers.

One of the computers, a desktop, contained personal information of all the Cathedral Church of God's 500 members.

The burglary happened sometime between the church's late Sunday service and a Monday prayer meeting at 6 a.m., the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

The church is located at 365 S. Dixie Highway.

Investigators could not determine how the burglar entered the church.

Officials suspect the burglar walked in during the late service, waited for everyone to leave and then burglarized the church.
