The News Journal • March 5, 2009
Surveillance images of a man who police said stole three laptop computers from a Newark-area clinic were released today.
State police said the incident happened March 2 during a heavy snow day in the area when the clinic was not that busy.
Police said sometime from just before 3 p.m. until closing at 7 p.m. a lone suspect entered the Nemours Clinic, at 252 Chapman Road in Christiana, and roamed freely for some time.
When accosted by employees, the suspect reported that he was lost and that was how he ended up in the building.
Surveillance video captured him removing the three computers, valued at $3,000, and leave in an unknown direction, police said.
He was described as being 28 to 34 years old, 6-6’2", 175-185 pounds with an average build. He wore a yellow cap and a tan sports jacket with white Nike sneakers and black gloves.
Police said that no patient information was compromised during this incident. They are asking anyone with information about the man to call 834-2630 ext. 212.
