Kingsley man arrested in NMC theft

TRAVERSE CITY — Police arrested a Kingsley man they believe stole computer equipment from a Northwestern Michigan College building.

Traverse City Police responded on May 4 to a reported break-in at NMC's Beckett Building. Officers found that someone entered the building through a window and removed a computer monitor and stand.

On Tuesday, officers searched a Kingsley home based on information provided by NMC staff and contract employees. Police said they found the stolen items at the home, including a Dell desktop computer, a 55-inch monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse.

Officers arrested the home's resident, a 23-year-old man and NMC student, for breaking and entering. He was taken to Grand Traverse County jail. See Thursday's Record-Eagle for more on this story.
