Officials said the band room was secured Friday at about 9:30 p.m. but when school officials came in Monday, just before 6 a.m., they discovered items were missing and called the police.
"We don't have any suspect information but we did find evidence as far as fingerprints so we are currently working the case," said Chino Police Sgt. Kevin Mensen.
"There was no witness to the crime."
Keyboard, amplifier, cd player and a computer was stolen from the school at 13400 Pipeline Ave. No band equipment was taken.
The total loss is estimated at $9,770.
Detectives couldn't find a point of entry to the band room, but nothing was broken into, so they don't know how the suspects got in, Mensen said.
It is unsure as to what the items stolen will be used for, Mensen said unless they have a specific use for it, it could likely be sold or resold for cash.
Police officials caution they see anyone at the school in the middle of the night to call 909-628-1234.
