Thugs break into DC's offices, steal computers.
Thugs broke into the Teso north DC offices on Wednesday evening and made away with over 10 computers. The DC, Josephine Onunga said the raid took place in the evening, and alleged it could have been a collusion between people who worked in his office and criminals. “The theft could have been as a result of casual security arrangements," . The DC warned AP manning government institutions to be more vigilant.
The DC said the theft was well-executed because there was no sign of forced entry. "The thugs replaced the office padlocks with theirs," said the DC. Nine civil servant have recorded statements with the police and the APs who were on duty that evening were also quizzed.
Staff who reported on duty yesterday was denied entry for over three hours pending the arrival of a forensic team from Kakamega and Bungoma. The theft comes a month after thugs broke into the agricultural department in the DC offices and stole two motorcycles. Nobody was arrested. District Education Officer, Wangatho Maina said vital information was stolen by the thieves who struck soon after the staff broke for the day.He said among the offices which were broken into included his own, Staffing Officer John Paul Wephoge and that of TSC.
