Computer equipment stolen from Loughborough University
Posted on 26/10/2012
Detectives are appealing for information after a burglary at Loughborough University.
The burglary happened at around 10pm on Wednesday October 17, 2012 when three men pulled into the car park in a dark vehicle.
The men wearing balaclavas and dark clothing broke into one of the building on campus and once inside, stolen a large quantity of specialist computer equipment.
The men made off with the property in the car along Ashby Road in the direction of the M1.
The car was displaying number plates which had been stolen from a vehicle in Oxford Street, Shepshed earlier that night.
Detective Constable Steve Winterton, who is investigating the incident, said: “The items taken are worth of thousands of pounds and this burglary has obviously had a significant affect on the university.
“We have been carrying out various enquiries since the incident happened but we hope that members of the public will be able to help us move things forward.
“Were you in the area that night? Did you see these three men in the area? Perhaps watching the university or hanging around acting suspiciously? Did you see them leave? Perhaps you saw them drive away? Any information could help us so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 740 Steve Winterton on 101*, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 0740. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free** and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
* Calls to 101 cost 15p for the entire call from both mobile phones and land lines

When I initially commented I clicked the "Notify me when new comments are added" checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three e-mails with
