Computers stolen from Timuquana Elementary School
4:06 PM, Nov 6, 2012
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- When teachers returned to school on Monday at Timuquana Elementary School, they discovered four Apple laptop computers were missing.
Duval County School Board Police found a door ajar to class room number 207. Police had responded to an alarm call at the school on Saturday, but everything appeared secure.
The door had pry marks on it and the strike plate had been damaged. The computers were valued at $4,000 and damage to the door was estimated to be $100. They were taken sometime between Friday night at 10 p.m. when the maintenance staff secured the school and Monday morning when staff returned to the school.
The four computers were taken from two tables in the back of the class room. Principal Margaret Kring told police that four computers were also taken from a portable classroom on October 28th. The school does not have any security cameras.
