At 3:00 am on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 the North Vancouver RCMP attended to a break and enter alarm at the Dorthy Lynas School in North Vancouver. The elementary school is located at Inlet Crescent in the Deep Cove area.
Police discovered forced entry was made into the library area of the school. Once culprits were inside they broke into the schools computer lab. Stolen were seven Mac laptop computers. Thieves also stole the power supply cords required to operate the computers.
The North Vancouver RCMP is actively investigating this theft and have added all the computers' serial numbers to the police stolen property list, advised spokesperson for the detachment, Cpl. Richard De Jong.
These computers may be sold for a fraction of their value. It is a criminal offence to either sell or be in possession of stolen property.
The police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the culprits responsible for this theft and the disruption it has caused to the computer lab. Any information can be given by calling the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
