Man held for stolen goods
A man in possession of about R3 million worth of stolen property was arrested in Durban on Tuesday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
The man, 36, was taken into custody at his home in the Point during a police operation, said Lt-Col Vincent Mdunge.
Nineteen brand new plasma TV sets, 60 laptops, 20 old plasma TV sets and 15 desktop computers were among items recovered.
“Police investigations revealed that some of these goods were stolen during house break-ins, house robberies, theft out of motor vehicles and containers from the harbour,” Mdunge said.
It appeared the man was selling the stolen goods to a network in other African countries.
He would appear in Durban Magistrate's Court soon. - Sapa
