STAFF at a Nottingham cancer care centre have been left devastated after thieves stole thousands of pounds-worth of computer equipment.
The Maggie's Centre at the City Hospital, for which the Post and its readers raised more than £640,000, was broken into on Thursday night.

Shocked: Maggie's fundraising organiser Angela Kehoe shows where the computers were stolen from when thieves raised the cancer care centre, for which Post and its readers raised more than £640,000.
A cleaner made the discovery at around 6am yesterday and raised the alarm.
Kate Martin, a cancer support specialist at the centre, said: "The thieves had forced entry through the front door and taken four computers from the office.
"We are all very shocked and devastated.
"I can't believe people would break into a building like this.
"The work we do here helps people at the most painful times of their lives. It is disgusting that someone would steal from us."
The centre offers emotional support to cancer patients and anyone affected by the disease.
It opened in November last year and has helped thousands of people already.
Ms Martin added: "Those who carried out this theft have made matters worse for those who are already going through a difficult time.
"We would encourage anyone who knows about the theft of these computers to contact the police."
Supporter of the centre Glenis Ping, 72, of Rise Park, said she was horrified by the burglary.
She said: "The words I would use to express how I feel about this couldn't be printed in the paper.
"I can't believe people would steal from a centre that cares for cancer patients.
"It's just unbelievable. The fact that so many people in Notts put their time and effort into Maggie's and these idiots go and do this is just shocking.
"Computers are an essential part of the centre and we worked so hard to get the money to open it and keep it running.
"The only good thing is that the thieves didn't damage the centre."
Staff at Maggie's said the centre is still open to provide support to the many people with cancer in the East Midlands area.
They also confirmed that there was no personal information stored on the computers.
Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Gurmit Kaur, of Notts Police, said: "Any crime is extremely distressing for its victims, and it is particularly appalling when an organisation that provides care and support for people in need is targeted by criminals.
"This matter will be investigated and we would also urge anyone who has information about this burglary or who witnessed any suspicious activity around the City Hospital overnight and early on Friday morning to telephone Notts Police as soon as possible."
Anyone with information should call 101, and quote incident number 137 of August 24. Alternatively, they can telephone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
