Computers stolen in separate burglaries

A desktop computer system valued at $1,500 was stolen from the community room of Legacy Mill Apartments, 125 Jennings Mill Parkway, between midnight and 8 a.m. Wednesday, Athens-Clarke police said.

Officers found no evidence of a break-in and all residents of the apartment complex have keys to the room.

In another theft, two laptop computers altogether worth $1,500 went missing from a home in the 100 block of Altarstone Drive between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 12:40 a.m. Thursday, Athens-Clarke police said.

The thief possibly entered through a door unintentionally left unlocked, police said.
