KENYA COMPUTERS STOLEN http://allafrica.com/stories/201209020038.html
SIX Administration police officers will face disciplinary action over stolen computers that disappeared at the Siaya DC offices. The APs were on duty when the 10 computers were stolen. Speaking yesterday on behalf of DC Gerald Mutuku, DO Christine Wafula said "we have charged the officers for the offence and hopefully a few heads will roll."
She said the inquiry over the computer thefts was going on and could not divulge much information "since it might jeopardise the investigations". As precautionary measure, the DO directed that all the departmental heads install burglar proof windows. and doors.
Speaking yesterday during the District Executive Committee meeting, Karemo who chaired the meeting on behalf of the area DC Gerald Mutuku, said severe disciplinary steps have been taken against the officers.
The move comes after departmental heads raised concerns on the safety of their offices arguing that the rampant burglary was a well orchestrated move given that the AP armory is just a stone throw away.
