Computers stolen at Kisumu police unit

MYSTERY surrounds the Monday break in at the Kisumu police inspection unit where computers were stolen. Yesterday, acting Kisumu East DC Willy Cheboi, who chairs the district security meeting, confirmed the incident.

The unit is located on the outskirts of Kisumu town next to the Kisumu International Airport and police officers live at the premises. Cheboi had said the unit does not fall within his jurisdiction, insisting it is located in the neighbouring Kisumu North District.

“There was indeed theft of three computers at the police inspection unit early Monday but I believe the division lies in Kisumu North district,” said the administrator.
