WISCONSIN 20 LAPTOPS STOLEN FROM ORGANIZATION Archives: StoryNorthwoods Inc. of Wisconsin, located on Highway 51 south outside of Portage, was burglarized sometime between 7 p.m. Monday and early Tuesday morning.

Northwoods Executive Director Jeffrey Aertz said the theft of up to 20 laptop computers means the loss of up to $10,000. The computers would have been sold to the public with the funds going back to Northwoods, carrying out the organization's mission of helping the disabled and others seeking independence.

"The burglars tried to get into file cabinets and doors causing a lot of damage when they couldn't gain access," Aertz said. "They did get into a safe and stole cash that belonged to our clients."
