NEW ORLEANS SOCIAL SERVICES OFFICES BREAK IN1 booked, 1 sought, in Chalmette break-in Nothing was stolen in the burglary, but computer equipment was found on a window ledge, apparently about to be taken out of the building, according to Maj. John Doran, chief of detectives for the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office.

Doran said that when Ruiz led deputies to his apartment, they found computer equipment stolen from the same state office the night before.

Ruiz was booked with both burglaries, Doran said. Two men who live with Ruiz were home at the time and were booked with possession of stolen property. They were identified as Michael Currera, 25, and Gary Oramous, 48.

Deputies also found identification for a fourth man, Dereck Reed, 29, of New Orleans, who wasn't present.

Doran said Ruiz admitted he and Reed committed both burglaries, and also told deputies they were supposed to supply computer equipment to a heroin dealer in New Orleans. Reed is being sought, Doran said.
