MATTHEWS, N.C. -- A two month investigation and undercover sting operation in Matthews Feb. 5, resulted in the recovery of more than $100,000 in stolen property.

Emil George Massad was arrested and charged with selling stolen merchandise ranging from lawn equipment to work tools and computers. Police said that Massad bought the stolen items for pennies on the dollar. Most items were taken from restaurants, businesses, work vans, trucks and store shelves police said.

Investigators are asking individuals who have had items stolen in recent months to contact the Matthews Police Department at (704) 847-4069 to identify any recovered equipment.
