He'll be using the next 10 years to learn a lesson of his own.

Dolby, 35, Lancaster, pleaded guilty Friday to operating an organized theft ring. Most of his accomplices were former students around the age of 20 and younger.

When arrested in August, Dolby was a computer teacher at Fairfield Career Center. He fled from his classroom to a soybean field behind the campus when he saw detectives in the school's parking lot on the first day.

Since 2002, the group targeted homes and buildings under construction in Violet Township -- in particular, the new Pickerington North High School, from which hundreds of thousands of dollars of computer equipment was stolen.
