Orpheum sign awaits repairs after theft, glitch
The electronic marquee sign above the Orpheum Theatre's entrance has stopped working but should be repaired by Monday, a spokeswoman said.
The marquee normally flashes upcoming events in bright red lights. Last month, burglars broke into the historic theater at 200 N. Broadway and took an estimated $15,000 worth of supplies and equipment, including three computers, one of which controlled the marquee.
When software was reinstalled on a new computer, the sign failed to respond. Computer technicians are scheduled to arrive Monday to work on the problem. Event information can be found at www.wichitaorpheum.com or by calling 263-0884.
