ROCKLAND (April 5, 2004): Burglars hit Rockland District High School over the weekend and stole four computers valued at $4,000, according to Rockland police.
Deputy Police Chief Wally Tower said a window to a locked room at the high school was forced open, and the computers were the only items taken.
MSAD 5 Superintendent Ann Demers said all were Apple computers, and didn't specify whether they are laptop or desktop units. She said one computer thought stolen was later found inside the classroom.
Tower said the burglars targeted the computers specifically. "They knew what they were after," he said.
The burglary wasn't discovered until 7 a.m. Monday morning, and police are currently investigating.
