Student loses digital camera, laptop computer in residence hall burglary
By Koran Addo
niversity student Luke Danielson?s Centennial Hall room was burglarized Sunday and more than $1,500 worth of property was taken.
Danielson, who moved into his single room approximately three weeks ago, said he was watching television in a friend?s room down the hall early Sunday morning.
When Danielson returned to his room, he said he unlocked the door and found that an unknown person had stolen his laptop computer, digital camera and other items.
Danielson said he was most upset that the thief or thieves had emptied the contents of his backpack apparently to help carry his items away.
Because his door was locked when he returned to his room, Danielson said he suspects the culprit might have been the person who previously lived in his room.
?I can?t think of who else it could have been,? he said.
Wachen Anderson, who handles judicial affairs for Housing and Residential Life, said room locks are not changed when a student moves out unless that student fails to return their room key. "
