UK DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY INFORMATION SECURITY BREACHES SURVEY 2004DTI Information Security Breaches Survey 2004Welcome to the Information Security Breaches Survey 2004, managed by PricewaterhouseCoopers on behalf of the UK Department of Trade and Industry.

This survey of UK businesses, carried out every two years, is the UK's leading source of information on security incidents suffered by businesses, both large and small.

The Survey Results were launched by Stephen Timms, MP, Minister of State on 27 April 2004, and the Survey results are available here. In addition, seven factsheets focusing on various aspects of the results and good practice in information security are available here. The 2004 Survey findings were officially launched at the Infosecurity Europe exhibition.

We have included links to a number of information security reference sites, including the results of the 2002 and 2000 Surveys for comparison purposes, that we hope you will find useful. We particularly recommend that you visit the DTI Information Security Health Check to give you an insight into what is needed to move you and your organisation towards information security best practice.

If you have any questions about, or feedback on, this site, please e-mail security.survey@uk.pwc.com

To ensure the Survey is targeted at today's security issues, the Department of Trade and Industry has enlisted the help of acknowledged leaders in e-business security who have sponsored and contributed to the development of the Survey.
