UTAH COMPUTER SERVER STOLEN FROM NETWORLD COMMUNICATIONS The Salt Lake Tribune -- Computer 'phones home': "Networld Communications officials may have been ready to write off the loss of a server stolen in a rash of high-tech burglaries in Salt Lake City.
Then the pilfered piece of equipment started trying to 'contact' its old peers. Networld's Ken Bowman used the contacts to track the stolen equipment and police followed Bowman's directions straight to the computer. Officers also found hardware and software from several other Salt Lake City businesses, as well as stolen driver licenses, ID cards, Social Security cards and credit cards.
Two men who were allegedly fencing the stolen goods out of a business at 2225 S. 500 East have been charged with theft."
