A former maintenance worker pleaded guilty Monday to a scheme in which he stole medical and computer equipment from the Mayo Clinic and sold the items on the Internet.
Noah P. Heaser, 30, of Eyota, Minn., pleaded guilty to mail fraud.
Heaser was accused of stealing items worth roughly $196,000 while working as a contract maintenance worker at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester from May 2002 until February. He allegedly took research, dental and computer equipment, including some that was sold on eBay, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Sentencing guidelines call for up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
