MISSOURI COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM HIGH SCHOOLWashington MissourianWashington police said they have no leads at this time into the theft of more than $13,000 worth of computers and electronic equipment from a Washington High School computer lab in a burglary last weekend.
"At least" seven complete computer systems along with three computer towers and one monitor were taken from the computer room sometime Friday night, April 30, or early Saturday, May 1, according to a police report. All the monitors were new flat screen models, police noted in the report.
A teacher who went to the campus Saturday to check his mail discovered the burglary and reported the incident to police.
That teacher said after he entered the building he noticed a large TV cart at the bottom of a set of stairs and realized it had been taken from his room, then found the computers missing from a nearby computer lab, according to the report.
The burglars also knocked a large hole in a wall, apparently in an act of vandalism, police said.
Detectives determined that a window was pried open to gain entry to the building.
The investigation is continuing, police said.
