One suspect has been charged and two others are being sought in connection with two burglaries in little more than two weeks at the new Coldwell Banker office building at 3495 Northdale Blvd., Coon Rapids.

The burglaries took place the early morning hours of Nov. 29 and Dec. 14.

Following the Dec. 14 burglary, which police linked to the Nov. 29 crime, Coon Rapids Police were able to identify one of the suspects and found that he was in the Hennepin County Jail after his arrest for an unrelated incident.

The Anoka County Attorney’s Office filed a criminal complaint in Anoka County District Court Dec. 16 charging Daniel Fitzgerald Shockley, 26, Brooklyn Park, with third-degree burglary and theft in connection with the Nov. 29 burglary.

According to Det. Daren Keasling, Coon Rapids Police, charges are pending against Shockley for the Dec. 14 burglary.

A warrant was issued by the court for the arrest of Shockley.

According to Det. Sgt. Kevin Smith, Coon Rapids Police, an officer in the department was able to put a name to Shockley in both the Coldwell Banker burglaries after viewing the video surveillance tapes from the building, which captured both burglaries and the getaway vehicles.

The officer had stopped Shockley in his vehicle on another matter and recognized both the man and the vehicle from the surveillance tape, Smith alleged.

When Coon Rapids detectives spoke to Shockley in the Hennepin County Jail he identified the two other males who had been with him during the Dec. 14 burglary, according to Smith.

Shockley had allegedly done the Nov. 29 burglary alone.

And Smith alleged Shockley admitted to being involved in thefts from vehicles at the Foley Boulevard Park and Ride lot and the Anoka-Ramsey Community College parking lot.

A search warrant was executed at a Brooklyn Park residence by police Dec. 15 and property from the Coldwell Banker burglaries and the thefts from vehicles was recovered, according to Smith.

Search warrants were executed at other locations Dec. 16 and further property was recovered from the Coldwell Banker burglaries and the thefts from vehicles at Anoka-Ramsey and the park and ride lot, Keasling said.

“We have four truckloads of recovered stolen property,” he said.

Employees arriving for work at Coldwell Banker shortly after 7:30 a.m. Dec. 14 found several interior offices had been entered and work stations tampered with, according to Coon Rapids Police reports.

Computers and cameras were among the property reported stolen.

Video surveillance cameras in the building showed three white males entering through a door on the west side of the building and leaving by the same door.

They left in an older, gray, four-door passenger car.

Surveillance cameras showed the burglars were in the Coldwell Banker building between 2:30 and 4:30 a.m. Dec. 14.

According to police reports, there was no sign of forced entry to the exterior door, but a couple of interior doors were forced open.

The early morning hours of Nov. 29 a burglary was discovered by a Coldwell Banker employee arriving for work at 7:49 a.m. The video surveillance cameras showed a white male in his 20s break into the building about 12:15 a.m.

The burglar spent some four hours inside the building, ransacking offices and removing property.

Video surveillance showed the suspect leave the building at 4:36 a.m. in what appeared to be a mid-1990s white Ford or Mercury, possibly a Mercury Sable or Ford Contour.

According to the criminal complaint filed against Shockley for the Nov. 29 burglary, property stolen included two Plasma video monitors, each worth $2,500, and several laptop computers.
Officers were able to get a description of the vehicle from video and traced it back to Shockley, the complaint alleges.

When photos were obtained of Shockley and compared to the surveillance video, it was allegedly established that Shockley was the burglar.

OH and by the way, I think you were more pissed about the "equipment" that was so courageously left behind, from "YOUR" department and then that was also blamed on my brother, might as well, right, good cop bad cop, good guy bad guy, there ALL the same. Makes no difference to me, he is a better person now, but not because of you. YOU are not and will never be a mentor for anyone, " LIAR". Take care Keasley and ff MIKE bonehead.
