PENNSYLVANIA COMPUTERS STOLEN FROM UNIVERSITYAP Wire | 02/04/2005 | News in brief from central Pennsylvania: "SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. (AP) - Three roommates at Shippensburg University have been charged with stealing laptop computers, digital cameras, electronic games and other items worth thousands of dollars from fellow students.
Tyquan W. Cooper, 20, of Lancaster; Theodore Lipford III, 21, of Philadelphia; and Kenneth E. Carter Jr., 20, of Shippensburg, were arrested after officers found 20 items that had been reported stolen in their off-campus apartment, police said Thursday.
University police said the men were caught after they plugged two stolen laptops into the school's computer network, allowing investigators to track the items.
Cooper and Lipford are charged with burglary, trespassing and related counts. Carter is charged with receiving stolen property. All three are free on $15,000 bail.
Dean of Students Roger Serr said he could not discuss the case against the men or potential disciplinary action"
