UK WEBTRACK COMPUTER SECURITY TRACKING COMPANY HELPING POLICE TRACK STOLEN COMPUTERS Belper Today: News, Sport, Jobs, Property, Cars, Entertainments & MoreWebTrack appears on TVLAPTOP security is top priority for one Belper based computer firm as their product is helping the police track stolen equipment.

WebTrack is a software system for tracing lost and stolen computers and laptops through the internet.
It uses a combination of internet and telephone technology to locate and retrieve a computer.
Cotswold Computer Supplies is the only distributor of Webtrack in the UK.
Managing director of the company Philip Lenson said: "Police say that laptops have taken over from mobile telephones as the thing to steal because they fetch more money.
"With this software if the equipment is stolen we are notified. As soon as the thief goes on-line we can trace the telephone number and address and pass the details onto the police."
The software was included in a police feature on security on East Midlands Today on Thursday and is now being used by the Nottinghamshire force to cut down thefts of student's laptops.
A spokesman for the force said "Following a series of burglaries, which seem to be targeting the laptop computers of students, and in particular international students, we decided to take this action.
"In the event that the computer is stolen, the trackers will mean the laptop can be traced by the police."
Webtrack is available from several high street computer retailers and costs £30 for three years.
